Hi there,
i have to do performance analysis of virtual machines an i need access to the CPU performance counters from inside of a VM.

Is it possible to download this rejected patch http://lwn.net/Articles/379869/ and patch it in on Scientific Linux 5 or 6?

This patch seems to do exactly what i want. I know there is a KVM virtual PMU from kernel 3.3 on but there is no software!

Is there a special solution, like xenprofile available for KVM? I google since hours to find a way to read these counters.
Regards,
Andreas
