Hello,
I am confused by reading around about balloon and different hypervisors.
In KVM, I can handle the balloon manually using the qemu monitor (or libvirt) commands. This has a direct effect in the guest as its memory will increase or decrease accordingly (like hot adding/removing memory).
From what I read in some papers, I understand that VMware ESXi and XEN can handle ballooning automatically but I can't find many references about how it works in KVM.
Can someone please clarify briefly how ballooning works in KVM?
Thank you,
Regards,
Vangelis
