Disk Cloning Wizards in Development for Virt-Manager

Just recently I came across a message in the Virt-tools mailing list discussing RFC for the new cloning wizard interface in Virt-manager and they’ve already got some interface design screenshots. The main discussion point on the mailing list message was whether to allow the wizard to perform linked clones on read write disks as opposed to readonly disks. Below shows some of the screenshots from development.

The following wizard will generate a new VM name (usually <orig-name>-clone), new storage paths as required, and MAC addresses. Storage is marked as either shared or clone. Storage like removable media (cdrom, floppy), readonly or shareable disks will be 'Shared' by default.

Below shows the storage details dropdown dialog.

This in turn brings up another dialog allowing you to change the disk path.

You can expect to see this interface (or something similar) in an upcoming release of virt-manager.
