kvm-kmod-2.6.36 comes with release of kernel 2.6.36

kvm-kmod-2.6.36 comes soon after the release of the latest linux kernel version 2.6.36 yesterday. This release comes with a few bug fixes and marks the end of life of the kvm-kmod 2.6.35 series. The kvm-kmod kernel modules allow you to use the latest kvm kernel features even if you’re running an older linux kernel. Using this series is a simple as untarring and running a configure, make and make install.

The changelog for this latest release is shown below

KVM changes since kvm-kmod-2.6.36-rc6:

  • x86: Fix fs/gs reload oops with invalid ldt
  • x86: Move TSC reset out of vmcb_init
  • x86: Fix SVM VMCB reset

kvm-kmod changes:

  • x86: make sure kvm_get_desc_base() doesn't sign extend
  • Improve accuracy of tboot_enabled wrapping
