Dear All
I want to use KVM and I installed 23-bit Centos 5.2 on a AMD Phenom(tm) 9650 Quad-Core Processor that support Virtualization (VT). but when I boot it , I've got this message "kvm: no hardware support". Can I use KVM on a 32-bit OS??
Best Regards
hrmb,
Yes, you can use kvm with a 32-bit host. Did you check if virtualization is switched on in your bios?
Thanks for your reply
I checked the bios and switched it to on, but it dosen't work!! and when I run the "/sbin/modprobe kvm-amd" command I've got this error "FATAL: Module kvm_amd not found"
please help me!!!
I just reread your initial post. You're running Centos 5.2 but Centos only started supporting kvm from Centos 5.4 which was released recently. You'll have to upgrade CentOS 5.4.
I installed fedora 10 64-bit , and it's work. but I don't have /dev/kvm, can you help me?? and my problem on 32-bit host is still remain.
So modprobe didn't work for you on fedora 64-bit? Did you upgrade CentOS to 5.4 on your 32-bit machine?
Finally I upgrade to Centos 5.4 and the kvm is running, but when I compiled the 2.6.30.9 kernel I've got the no hardware support error when I want to boot os with this kernel, and kvm module not loaded.
I don't know how to solve this??????????
please help me!!!!!!!!!
Out of curiosity, any reason why you're running Centos 32-bit?
Try the Centos5.4 64-bit version and see if that works.
