KVM will suppport Extended Page Tables in future intel chip (nehalem) due in 2009/2010

Intel is planning the production of the Nehalem CPU based on a brand new architecture in the 2009/2010 time frame. Of the many new features of this new architecture will be additional virtualization extensions pushing even more virtualization features down to the hardware. These extensions will support Extended Page Tables (EPT) for reconciling memory types between guest and host memory.

KVM has already been testing patches for supporting EPT extensions. Additional information can be found in the Intel whitepaper document (PDF 95KB).
