The ovirt project for managing open source virtualization will be getting a second wind thanks to the Open Virtualization Alliance. The project is scheduled for a relaunch in early November in San Jose California with a workshop at Cisco's main campus. The workshop will be held on November 1 - 3 and will include breakout sessions for learning and hacking.

This project will fill a serious gap in open virtualization management toos and provide an alternative for businesses interested in deploying KVM in production environments. oVirt will be the opensource project behind Red Hat's RHEV-M product.
