SPICE 0.5.2 Released

Yesterday saw the release of version 0.5.2 of the SPICE project. The network and PCI ids API are considered unstable with this release since the ABI is still not finalized. This situation is expected to change with the next release of 0.5.3 scheduled to be released on July 19th . There’s a release schedule outlined for version 0.6.0 which will include the following features at a minimum.

Qemu integration - 80% complete
Surfaces – 100% complete 
Marshalling layer for compatibility – 0% complete
PCI compatibility layer – 10% complete
Improved support for WAN – 0%
Cut and paste between client and guest – 60%

The release schedule for version 0.6.0 is as follows.

• 0.5.3 – July 19 2010
• 0.5.4 – Aug 2 2010
• 0.6.0 – Aug 16 2010
