The SPICE project is one step closer for merging with upstream qemu. An announcement went out on the spice development mailing list recently announcing the merge of libspice API into the SPICE repository. Everytime these SPICE patches are rebased to the latest version of qemu, the spice branch is incremented, ie. spice.v1, spice.v2, spice.v3 etc etc. You can browse the code repositories at the following link: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/spice/qemu/ if you’re interested in checking out the source code. At the time of this post, the most up to date version was spice.v9 as shown in the snapshot below.

If you’re running the latest Fedora, you can follow the instructions in this post for testing the latest experimental packages. If you’re not running fedora, you’ll have to build it manually from the git repository.
