Hi all, I successfully installed Proxmox VE 1.1 on HP ProLiant ML350 G5 server. With the server came the licence of MS Win2003 Standard ROK (HP brended OEM licence). When i try to install that OS (MS Win2003 Standard ROK) i get an error: "This system is not supported platform." Searching on the internet i fond this info: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=10944... and this one right after: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc... They are talking about passing BIOS informations to the operating system running in the virtual machine and they explained how to do that in VMware environment ( adding this line SMBIOS.reflectHost=TRUE to the configuration file of the virtual machine). Is there some similar workaround in KVM virtualization too? P.S. I run other (linux and windows) KVM virtual machines without problems.

It is allowed, but not for Foundation

HP ROK license does allow this for (don't take this as a guarantee) almost all versions, one notable exception : Foundation editions. These are not allowed to run on a "partitioned server". Talk about misuse of technical term here :D

BIOS ID under KVM

Does anyone have an answer to the actual question itself?

Is it possible to expose the BIOS ID under Linux KVM in the same why you use SMBIOS.reflectHost = TRUE on VMware?
